Calling herself a dreamy soul creating art, she puts magic into ordinary objects of our everyday reality. Japanese snacks, fluffy bunnies and magic potions, her works have all that we need in life.

Where do you live and what does your studio look like?

In beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada! My studio is best described as always in a state of organized, creative chaos where I have multiple projects on-going. My drawing station is facing the window where I can look at the trees and sky as I dream of ideas. My side-kick long haired chihuahua accompanies me while I draw.

Why and when did you start to create?

I made the leap and focused on being an illustrator in mid year 2020. Before that, I was a jewelry designer where I was regularly at local and international artisan markets. With COVID lock downs in place, I had time to explore and pursue my drawing endeavors. I really wanted to show how our everyday items, like milk cartons, can have a magical side as well. What started as a hobby is now my main focus as my illustrations touched more and more people on social media.

You are obviously inspired by Japan and kawaii style, do you have any other inspirations?

My other two main areas of inspiration come from travelling and food. Seeing different sceneries and observing day to day life in other cultures inspire my drawing and give me ideas for new themes. I am a huge foodie and am always on the hunt for new flavours. Japanese snacks are one of my favourites and inspired my ‘Tokyo Snacks – Enamel Pin and Arts Collection’ kickstarter project.

How did you come up with such a color palette?

There is no science to my color palette. The color theme of my artwork is based on the feeling I get after mix and matching colors with the characters.

When did you develop your final style?

I am a relatively new illustrator so I can’t say I have a final style. My drawing style is evolving as I learn new techniques and grow as an artist. What will not change is my goal to inspire others to see the magic in everyday items with my art.

Which of your artworks is your favorite and why?

My ‘Milk Carton Convenience Store Shelf’ is currently my favorite artwork. It brings me back to my Japan travels and I had a lot of fun redesigning milk cartons. I wish my cute milk cartons will come to life one day.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not creating?

I enjoy gaming, watching anime, trying out new activities and searching for good food. During winter, snowboarding is one of my top activities.

What are your dreams as an artist?

My dream as an artist is to develop a full collection of artworks that dreamy souls can surround their daily life with and feel the magic everywhere they go. I want my designs to grow beyond jewelry, art prints, stickers, pins.

What are your plans for the future?

I recently designed and created my first pin collection and I hope to continue exploring other daily items and adding my touch to them. I will continue rediscovering my style and honing my techniques to give my fans and supporters warmth and joy through my art.
