Discover a Lively Multi-Sensory Exhibit Envisioning an Improved Tomorrow
**Title: Envisioning New Tomorrows: Pierre-Christophe Gam’s “The Sanctuary of Dreams”**
Pierre-Christophe Gam, an innovative artist based in London, is reshaping the fusion of art and technology through his project, Toguna World. Drawing inspiration from his rich heritage spanning Cameroon, Chad, Egypt, and Congo, Gam is celebrated for transforming collective memories into immersive, interactive experiences. His newest work, “The Sanctuary of Dreams,” curated by Onassis Stegi, is currently located in Pedion tou Areos park in Athens. This multi-sensory installation invites visitors to reflect on and investigate fresh methods of living, connecting, and envisioning.
The setup occurs within a radiant, contemporary temple, influenced by nomadic desert shelters. Within, guests can participate in a vividly colorful environment and contemplate five key queries about the future: How shall we eat, play, dream, pray, and love? Central to the experience is a 44-minute art film displayed across three large screens. Merging experimental animation, atmospheric soundscapes, and mixed-media collages, this film serves as a crucial narrative element. After the visual segment, an avatar of Gam assists visitors in articulating their aspirations for the future. These insights are stored in “The Global Mapping of Dreams,” a research initiative spanning Africa and its diasporas.
Gam characterizes “The Sanctuary of Dreams” as “a tribute to imagination.” On Instagram, he expands on this, stating, “the work utilizes ancestral technologies and ritual spatial design to investigate how we might reclaim time, space, and creativity amid an era of acceleration and collapse.”
The installation is open to everyone at Pedion tou Areos, Athens, until July 15, presenting a rare chance to engage with the synergy of art and technology. More information is available on the Onassis website.
