Bestselling Writer James Patterson Allocates $50,000 in Funding to Assist Aspiring Authors

Bestselling novelist James Patterson has introduced a program named “Go Finish Your Book,” intended to assist aspiring authors by offering grants of up to $50,000. With the help of writing organizations like the Authors Guild and PEN America, Patterson chose twelve recipients from a multitude of submissions. These winners represent various genres, such as memoirs, literary fiction, and graphic novels.

Medar de la Cruz, one of the awardees, conveyed appreciation for the support and motivation received from the program. T Kira Maden, another grant recipient, emphasized the inspiration these grants give to writers aiming for profound storytelling.

Alongside financial support, recipients will be provided with mentorship opportunities from Patterson and his publishing associates. The program illustrates Patterson’s enduring commitment to the literary community, having previously contributed over $200 million to advance education, literacy, and the arts. Patterson, a celebrated author who has worked with Bill Clinton and Dolly Parton, acknowledges the obstacles of writing and strives to inspire new voices to finish their literary endeavors.
