Attend the SVA MA Curatorial Practice’s Curator Conversations This Fall

The MA Curatorial Practice (MACP) program at the School of the Visual Arts (SVA) is a comprehensive two-year master’s degree dedicated to curatorial education. With a curriculum focusing on the history and theory of curating, hands-on exhibition creation, and networking opportunities, students are trained by world-renowned curators and experts to excel in the professional curating field.

Prospective students can learn more about the program in upcoming online information sessions scheduled for September 18, October 16, November 13, and December 11, 2025, at 10am (EDT). Applications are currently open for admission in Fall 2026.

MACP also presents the Curatorial Roundtable, a series of discussions hosted by Steven Henry Madoff, the Founding Chair. These events offer an international platform for curators and institutional leaders to discuss significant projects, available online and free to the public. Notable speakers include Philippe Pirotte, Solvita Krese, Slavs and Tatars, Antra Priede, Nontobeko Ntombela, Bernardo Mosqueira, and Doreen A. Riós. Detailed sessions are planned for September and October 2025.

Additionally, the Special Fall Spotlight event on October 9, 2025, features an in-person presentation by internationally acclaimed artist Ahmet Öğüt. This event takes place at the MA Curatorial Practice venue in New York, focusing on how a risk-taking curatorial approach enhances artistic practice and reframes works by artists such as David Wojnarowicz and Alfredo Jaar.
