Dom Pérignon Teams Up with Takashi Murakami for Exciting New Champagne Collection

Takashi Murakami is well-acquainted with brand partnerships. Over the past year, the Japanese artist has unveiled two product collections with CASETiFY; collaborated with the MLB for exclusive baseball collections; and transformed Japan’s Harajuku district alongside Louis Vuitton. Now, he’s setting his sights on the beverage sector, partnering with one of the globe’s most esteemed Champagne houses.

For the 2025 end-of-year season, Dom Pérignon has enlisted Murakami to reinterpret two of its vintage bottles: the Vintage 2015 and Rosé Vintage 2010. Both bottles showcase the artist’s distinctive flowers, with their vivid petals and cheerful faces adding a playful touch to an otherwise understated design. These flowers do not merely blend into the background; they boldly take the spotlight, artfully framing the Dom Pérignon label. The outcome is a delightful contrast between subtle sophistication and vibrant graphics, reflecting the artistic legacy of both Dom Pérignon and Murakami.

The bottle cases are just as festive, adorned with a lush array of Murakami’s flowers. This time, the flowers interlace even more, resembling a dense vineyard that echoes Dom Pérignon’s brand essence as a vintage Champagne producer. In its entirety, the collaboration serves as a visual tribute to nature and its vital significance in both Champagne creation and as an artistic theme. Organic elements have permeated Murakami’s work for decades, while natural topographies and their abundance supply Dom Pérignon with its premium ingredients.

In addition to these two items, the partnership includes a unique “Uber” piece available for a select group. This custom-made artwork will be hand-crafted and painted, taking the shape of a sphere that opens to reveal a hidden garden.

“Through my collaboration with Dom Pérignon, I aimed to convey a sense of time travel,” Murakami states. “My ambition is to stay significant in 100 or 200 years and to transcend eras. When the label has matured, and I am no longer here, and my descendants are gone, I wish for future generations, upon seeing it, to reimagine 2025 in their own way.”

Vincent Chaperon, the brand’s chef de cave, resonates with this idea: “We view heritage not as a static entity but as a passage through time.”

This marks not the first instance of Dom Pérignon partnering with a celebrated artist. Since 2005, the brand has collaborated with or honored artists like Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jeff Koons, and David Lynch. This latest collection with Murakami represents Dom Pérignon’s ongoing initiative to welcome contemporary artists, especially as it unveils its autumn campaign titled “Creation is an eternal journey.” Alongside Murakami, the campaign also features Tilda Swinton, Zoë Kravitz, and Iggy Pop, among others.
