Underwater Photography Seizes Myths and Legends in Baroque Fashion
Artist Christy Lee Rogers is set to present an immersive multimedia experience titled “Myths and Legends” at W1 Curates in London. Taking place from November 29 to December 3, 2025, the exhibition will feature a stunning transformation of the W1 Curates facade on Oxford Street, showcasing Rogers’ underwater photography across 300 LED screens, resulting in a mesmerizing splash of color.
Within the gallery, attendees can discover Rogers’ expansive photographs, which evoke Baroque art, filled with dynamic colors and figures that intertwine heroic, romantic, and existential tales. Utilizing light and composition reminiscent of Caravaggio, her artwork provides a connection between historical and modern artistic forms, encouraging viewers to contemplate enduring themes of human conflict, valor, and the quest for significance.
Rogers’ creations, often likened to classic paintings for their expressive lighting and movement, enable spectators to connect with intricate narratives of heroes, lovers, and seekers depicted in strikingly modern representations.
Hosted by Studio 74 Contemporary Art, “Myths and Legends” is open to the public at no charge, inviting art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the impactful essence of Rogers’ artistry. This exhibition continues Rogers’ inquiry into human stories through her unique underwater perspective, following her acclaimed “Aqueous Renaissance” exhibition in Shanghai.
