The Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation Introduces Platform Dalí: A New Art and Science Initiative

The Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation has announced the launch of Platform Dalí, an innovative international program inspired by Salvador Dalí’s unique intersection of art and science. Spearheaded by Mónica Bello, an esteemed leader in art-science collaborations, the initiative is set to foster dialogue between artists and scientists to enhance our understanding of the world. Dalí, known for integrating groundbreaking scientific concepts such as atomic physics and genetics into his work, serves as the muse for this program.

Platform Dalí, based in Barcelona, partners with prominent research centers including the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and the Institute of Photonic Sciences, providing a fertile ground for collaboration across disciplines like life sciences and photonics. Starting in 2026, the program will offer artistic fellowships and residencies, allowing creators to engage deeply with scientific fields.

The inaugural cohort of artists consists of Tania Candiani from Mexico, Andalusian dancer Israel Galván, Catalan collective Taller Estampa, and South African academic George Mahashe, all reflecting Dalí’s boundary-pushing ethos. Through research stays and artistic production, the program seeks to expand artistic and scientific frontiers alike. For further details, visit platformdali.org.
