Community Center Influenced by Mountains Reaches Full Height Completion

The Yidan Centre in Shenzhen, China, crafted by Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA), is currently being built and has reached its full vertical dimensions. This groundbreaking facility for lifelong education will be integrated into Shenzhen’s upcoming cultural district, adjacent to the Qianhai Museum. The center’s architecture features terraces and balconies encircling a central ravine, enhancing connectivity by merging indoor and outdoor environments. The design draws inspiration from the local mountainous terrain, mirroring valleys and canyons in its fluid form. A spacious skylight bathes the interior in natural illumination, while external louvres offer solar protection and expansive views, bolstering the building’s sustainability credentials, which include China’s three-star National Green Building Program rating and LEED Gold certification. Although the completion date has yet to be revealed, the advancement indicates a hopeful and extraordinary architectural enhancement for the city.
