A Thorough Examination of the SCOPE Art Show 2025: Perspectives on the Future of Modern Art in Miami

The art scene’s future continues to develop in Miami. SCOPE Art Show has just marked its 24th edition as part of Miami Art Week 2025. By showcasing thrilling works across a diverse range of mediums, it has established itself as one of the top venues for contemporary art on a global scale.
Under the leadership of founder Alexis Hubshman and director Hayley River Smith, the annual SCOPE Art Show event in Miami this year presented over 100 international exhibitors from 18 countries, including Iran and Greece. Among these were 30 galleries making their debut at this year’s gathering.
Over the years, SCOPE Art Show has maintained a dual purpose, excelling in both aspects. In addition to functioning as a vibrant marketplace that engages both local and international collectors, it provides insight into the future of the arts scene, highlighting emerging trends and the artists behind them.
In 2025, SCOPE Art Show reported unprecedented sales during the five days of the event, including museum acquisitions. “SCOPE 2025 was our strongest year yet,” stated Gabriel Shaffer, curator at Mortal Machine Gallery of New Orleans, Louisiana. “The energy of the crowd, the quality of collectors, and the platform the fair offered our artists were extraordinary. We’re privileged to have participated in such a dynamic edition.”
SCOPE Art Show also supported creators with several awards. The 2025 SCOPE Acquisition Prize for the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) was awarded to Daniel Ochoa for his works Inside Your Body, There is a Light That Never Goes Out (2025) and Biophoton (2025), which will join the museum’s permanent collection. Additionally, The FUZE x SCOPE Residency Prize, aimed at uplifting Caribbean and diasporic voices, was presented to artist Desmond Beach, who successfully sold 12 works with backing from Richard Beavers Gallery.
“We are dedicated to amplifying the voices that shape contemporary culture, and we’re proud to present the SCOPE Art Show PAMM Prize to an artist whose work not only captures this moment but also broadens the potential of what art can achieve,” remarked Smith. “This acknowledgment reinforces our belief that artists are the architects of our future, and it is our duty to advocate for the practices that challenge, inspire, and drive us forward.”
