Application Invitation for the 2027 Arts/Industry Residency at John Michael Kohler Arts Center

**Announcement: Call for Applications for the 2027 Arts/Industry Residency**

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the esteemed 2027 Arts/Industry residency program. This initiative, in collaboration with Kohler Co., offers a unique opportunity for artists to engage in a three-month industrial residency at the renowned Kohler Co. facility in Kohler, Wisconsin.

Since its inception in 1974, the residency has been a transformative experience for over 600 artists. Each year, the program hosts four artists per session, allowing two to work in the Kohler Co. Pottery and two in the Foundry. Participants are offered the chance to explore their artistic practices with a variety of industrial materials, including vitreous china, cast iron, and brass. Notably, prior experience in working with clay or metal is not necessary, provided the artists exhibit a keen interest in incorporating industrial techniques into their creative process.

During the residency, artists benefit from 24/7 access to studio spaces, complimentary industrial materials, and the use of state-of-the-art equipment. Additional support includes technical guidance, photographic services, accommodation, round-trip transportation, and a monthly stipend. Artists will have the flexibility to produce ambitious projects while choosing to focus on either Pottery or Foundry work.

This residency stands as a collaboration between the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, a notable nonprofit arts organization in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and the globally recognized Kohler Co., known for its kitchen and bath innovations. The program receives funding from both JMKAC and Kohler, reflecting a mutual commitment to fostering artistic growth.

Aspiring artists are encouraged to submit their applications for the 2027 residency by the deadline on February 28, 2026. For more detailed information about the program and to access application guidelines, please visit [jmkac.org/applications](https://bit.ly/48TRSef?ref=hyperallergic.com).
