As the quartet of astronauts raced toward the moon, their minds lingered on Earth. Mission pilot Victor Glover expressed his sentiments regarding the holiday and his perspective on being in space compared to being on Earth, highlighting the parallels between both. His inspiring message has resonated with many during this season of renewal at the onset of spring.

On Saturday, April 4, 2026, a CBS News journalist inquired if Glover wished to convey any thoughts to those back on Earth on the eve of Easter. “I don’t have anything ready,” Glover confessed. “I’m glad you mentioned it, though; I believe these observances hold significance.”

“You’re communicating with us because we’re aboard a spacecraft quite far from Earth, but you’re on a spaceship called Earth, designed to provide us with a habitat in the universe,” Glover stated. “Perhaps the distance from you makes our activities seem unique, but we’re the same distance from you. And I’m trying to inform you—just believe me—you are unique.”

Glover went on, referencing the splendor of Earth as a sanctuary in the vastness of the universe. “In all this void—this immense emptiness we term the universe—you have this sanctuary, this lovely place where we can coexist,” he reflected. “As we approach Easter Sunday, considering all the cultures globally, whether you celebrate or not, whether you hold faith or not, this is a moment for us to acknowledge our location, our identity, and that we are fundamentally the same, and that we must navigate this journey together.”

Although it shouldn’t take leaving our planet to contemplate the shared welfare of others, the cosmos provides a compelling backdrop for reflection—and for delivering a message. In times that feel challenging, even in the best of circumstances, Glover’s message serves as a hopeful reminder of unity and our shared existence on Earth.

As Glover and his fellow Orion crew members progress toward the moon, his reflections on Easter and existence in space are uplifting and have resonated with many.

Related Articles:
– [Earth Now Has “Two Moons” Until 2083, NASA Confirms](https://mymodernmet.com/nasa-confirms-quasi-moon-orbiting-earth/)
– [Artemis II Astronauts Preparing for the Moon Say They’re “Ready for Every Scenario”](https://mymodernmet.com/artemis-ii-ready/)
– [Blue Ghost Lander Celebrates Successful Moon Landing by Capturing Spectacular Images of Earth](https://mymodernmet.com/blue-ghost-moon-lander/)

The team aboard Orion on NASA’s Artemis II mission spent Easter Sunday in the expanse of space.
