Dale Chihuly Exhibit Reaches Michigan Sculpture Garden
World-famous glass artist Dale Chihuly is once again set to showcase his breathtaking sculptures at Michigan’s Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. The exhibition CHIHULY at Meijer Gardens, opening in May 2026, will be the third occasion that Chihuly has displayed his artwork at the Grand Rapids sculpture garden, concluding decades of partnership.
Meijer Gardens already features several Chihuly works in its permanent collection, including a custom chandelier and an expansive installation in the museum’s café. CHIHULY at Meijer Gardens will expand upon the artist’s relationship with philanthropists Fred and Lena Meijer, whose commitment to the arts initiated the establishment of this museum. With both indoor and outdoor displays, the exhibition will enable Chihuly to turn Meijer Gardens into a playground for his glass creations.

Sponsored by Macatawa Bank, the exhibition will last for six months, providing the public ample opportunity to appreciate the stunning artwork. According to the museum, the event will showcase monumental outdoor installations, including Chihuly’s towering glass sculptures, brilliant Reeds, and other awe-inspiring, site-specific pieces situated throughout Meijer Gardens. Inside, guests will encounter a diverse array of works that highlight Chihuly’s extensive forty-year career, making this a remarkable retrospective.
In the upcoming months, Meijer Gardens will share additional details concerning the artworks included in the museum, but in the meantime, mark your calendars for May 1, 2026.
