Creators and researchers from 34 nations presented their finest works, which were subsequently assessed by a panel of experienced judges.
Retired engineer Jay McClellan claimed first place for his captivating video of a thyme leaf speedwell during its self-pollination process. This remarkable portrayal of nature’s adaptability allows the public to witness a concealed strategy this species has embraced for survival. The award-winning video, which depicts the flower blooming and stamens extending to accomplish self-pollination, epitomizes McClellan’s enthusiasm for microscopy and photography.
