14-Year-Old Art Sensation to Launch Debut Solo Exhibit in Spring

Last year, 14-year-old artist Andres Valencia was exceptionally active—more than the typical teenager. In April 2025, this young talent published his very own art book with a Big Five publisher, and just a few months later, he unveiled a limited-edition print series in collaboration with the esteemed Mourlot Editions. While this is already an impressive feat, this March, Valencia is set to achieve yet another milestone that many artists aspire to for years: his own solo exhibition.

Scheduled to debut at the Nassau County Museum of Art on March 21, Profiles in Color showcases a variety of Valencia’s Cubist-inspired pieces. These large-format portraits resonate with vibrant color schemes, expressive brush strokes, and geometric shapes, converting human figures into abstract, fragmented caricatures. At first sight, these altered compositions resemble the works of Pablo Picasso and Amedeo Modigliani, but Valencia employs a more whimsical, instinctive style, resulting in a perspective that feels more uplifting than somber. That difference—and the tension it creates—is central to Valencia’s allure, which has surged in the art market and beyond in recent years.

“I envisioned this moment, but I didn’t expect it to happen so soon,” said the San Diego-based artist regarding Profiles in Color. “The Nassau County Museum is the ideal venue for my solo show. It’s incredibly thrilling.”

While Valencia’s forthcoming exhibition may resonate most strongly with Cubism, the young artist draws inspiration from a plethora of sources. Besides Picasso and Modigliani, he is influenced by artists such as Gerhard Richter, Vincent van Gogh, Francis Bacon, and Michelangelo, as well as Raphael Mazzucco and Salvador Dalí, both of whom are part of his father’s collection. In fact, this at-home collection was what initially captivated Valencia to painting when he was merely 5 years old.

“I want people to understand that art and expression have no age boundaries. Both young and old can be creative,” the young artist expressed in a recent discussion with Hypebeast. “I communicate through paint, and I hope people can find joy and inspiration in it as well.”

Valencia first garnered attention in the art world in 2021 at Art Miami, where he became the youngest artist in the fair’s history to present his work. Since that time, he has gained approximately 285,000 followers on Instagram; been collected by stars like Eva Longoria, Sofía Vergara, and soccer sensation Sergio Ramos; showcased his abilities on Jimmy Kimmel Live; and brought in thousands of dollars in auction sales at Phillips. He has also leveraged his recognition for philanthropic efforts, donating over $1 million worth of art to organizations like UNICEF and amfAR, among others.

Profiles in Color: The Paintings of Andres Valencia will launch on March 21 at the Nassau County Museum of Art, remaining on display until July 12, 2026.

This spring, 14-year-old artistic prodigy Andres Valencia will unveil his first solo exhibition, Profiles in Color, at the Nassau County Museum of Art.

The young artist began creating Cubist-inspired works at just 5 years of age and has since achieved remarkable fame.

Following his debut in the art scene at Art Miami in 2021, Andres Valencia has released a book, accumulated significant auction sales, and even attracted the attention of celebrity collectors.
