Artist Achieves Guinness World Record for Creating Largest Sock Monkey

Emilia Evans-Munton, a Glasgow School of Art graduate, created a giant sock monkey sculpture titled “Remember I’m Still Here” (2025) as an “ode to the toys that are left behind.” Measuring nearly 50 feet long, it holds the Guinness World Record for the largest sock monkey sculpture. Made from corduroy and stuffed with straw, the piece has been exhibited at the Glasgow School of Art and the Field Maneuvers music festival in Norfolk, England. The work’s wear and tear from interaction reflect its loved, cherished status. Inspired by a childhood curiosity, Evans-Munton’s creation now resides in her grandmother’s attic.
