Pratt’s 2026 Fine Arts MFA Thesis Exhibitions Scheduled for Spring Viewing

Pratt Fine Arts is thrilled to present a captivating two-part show curated by the talented Alessandra Gómez at Dock 72 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. This esteemed event features the remarkable work of graduating MFA artists across various disciplines, including painting and drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and integrated practices.

The exhibition is divided into two distinct parts. The first, “MFA Thesis Exhibition, Part 1: Double Take Two” (March 30–April 10), brings together 17 visual artists who explore the material conditions that influence visibility. These diverse works challenge the viewers’ perception, encouraging them to look again and uncover deeper insights.

Curated by Gómez, Part 1 features artists such as Q Ayodele, Jack Catlett, and Shuyi Chen, among others. With themes ranging from identity to public and private dichotomies, these creations delve into societal powers and dynamics, urging spectators to reflect on the often-overlooked aspects of life.

Next, “MFA Thesis Exhibition, Part 2: Ghost Light” (April 27–May 8) draws its inspiration from theatrical traditions, considering how memories and histories haunt architectural and natural spaces. Curated by Gómez, the exhibition features 16 artists, including Julie Jewon Huh and Jay Guo, who explore ecological sites, archives, and fantastical narratives. This segment of the exhibition invites guests to explore their own metaphorical ghost lights, uncovering what lingers in the spaces we inhabit.

Pratt Institute’s prestigious MFA program in Fine Arts supports innovation in art with its distinguished faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and a vibrant student community. This program offers a diverse curriculum, fostering critical perspectives and an understanding of the intersection between art and cultural, historical contexts.

This exhibition forms part of Pratt Shows 2026, celebrating years of student exploration, research, and creativity leading up to Commencement. Pratt Shows also showcase work in architecture, design, information, and liberal arts.
