“Salón ACME Destaca la Autenticidad en la Exitosa Feria de Arte de la Ciudad de México”
Mexico City’s Salón ACME has established itself as a distinctive platform focused on upcoming creatives. Now in its 13th year, the art fair continues to cultivate new audiences and link artists with collectors, acting as a symbol of genuineness and support amidst the often cutthroat art markets worldwide.
A portion of its success is attributed to Salón ACME’s unique framework. Its most recent edition was dispersed across six segments: Open Call, Bodega, State, Projects, Patio, and Sala. Each segment provided artists working in various media and at different career stages with diverse opportunities to exhibit their visions. In 2026, Salón ACME showcased the works of 224 participants from all segments.
The Patio segment is arguably the most emblematic of the entire art fair, as it invites impressive installations in the venue’s courtyard—a spacious house dating back to 1905. This year, Mexican artist Enrique López Llamas transformed the area with *I Am the Resurrection and I Am the Life*, a conceptual self-portrait consisting of 28 suspended pieces that dangle from the ceiling. Regarding the significance of his artwork, López Llamas shared with *El Porvenir*, “We are not merely one entity; we are evolving instruments that are constantly changing.”
In the Open Call segment—the largest of Salón ACME—the fair received more than 1,800 submissions and exhibited the works of 82 artists. Concurrently, the Projects segment hosted 26 artistic initiatives devoted to sustainability, ranging from concepts presented by local creators to artists based in London.
The State segment, focusing on art production from a specific Mexican state, was dedicated to Puebla, located in central Mexico, featuring the works of 15 artists currently residing and creating there. This category aims to expand the art scene beyond Mexico City, which hosts the majority of art events in the nation. Meanwhile, the Bodega displayed the creations of seven Mexico-based artists in a presentation titled *La Noche*, curated by CO,MA Art Services.
