Pharrell Williams Integrates Architectural Aspects in Louis Vuitton Autumn/Winter 2026 Menswear Line Presentation
Over the past two decades, Pharrell Williams has transcended music to delve into the realms of fashion and design. As of 2023, he has taken on the role of Creative Director for Louis Vuitton Menswear. Currently, his newest venture has led him to explore yet another field: architecture. In conjunction with the Autumn/Winter (A/W) 2026 runway show, he partnered with Not a Hotel to realize a “timeless future living concept” called DROPHAUS.
Constructed in a showcase adjacent to the Fondation Louis Vuitton in the Bois de Boulogne park in Paris, DROPHAUS is a prefabricated housing idea enveloped by a verdant garden. It is intended to represent the residence of the Louis Vuitton dandy; a man embodying a retro-futuristic elegance that would seamlessly fit into this chic environment.
DROPHAUS derives its name from its primary inspiration: a water droplet, which influences both the living concept and the collection itself. “Droplets serve as ongoing symbols for how small-scale actions can create future change through ripple effects,” states Louis Vuitton. “Manifested in the architecture of the DROPHAUS, drop motifs are further expressed in apparel and accessories through various techniques.”
Imagined as part of a holistic experience, this dwelling also showcases furniture conceived by Williams, who aims for a cohesive language throughout the entire campaign. Through robust textures and forms, the designer merges both the organic essence and the craftsmanship involved. To enhance the atmosphere, the setting is imbued with a fragrance created by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, Louis Vuitton Master Perfumer, featuring olfactory notes borrowed from the nearby garden.
“I grew up around water; it draws me in, and I create my finest work in its vicinity. DROPHAUS is inspired by a water drop, so if you step back and remove the roof and ceiling, it’s merely a drop,” Williams shared with Wallpaper*. “If I can’t dwell in water, this is the closest alternative. DROPHAUS embodies my vision of the future—something relevant today or in 20 years because it is rooted in function, savoir-faire, and genuine human need. I’m not an architect. I’m a solution creator.”
This marks Williams’s initial collaboration with Not a Hotel, as he and his partner Nigo became stakeholders and creative advisors for the Tokyo-based firm last year. Their first significant project is Japa Valley Tokyo, a one-hectare arts, retail, and hospitality complex scheduled to debut in 2027.
